serious answers only please…

today about an hour or so after I left the bank, I went home to balance my checkbook..Noticed $285 missing..just left the bank so it was within that hour…

called the bank and they said someone was actually going into the stores and swiping a card with my info..Now, I always have my card on me… When she told me my card had been used, I thought ‘internet’..But it turns out someone has a copy or something of my card..how is this possible?

Can I sue a business for credit card fraud because they didn’t check ID?

high_voltage327 asked:

I had someone steal my purse and use my credit card at one store 3 TIMES at 3 different registers and none of the cashier’s looked at the back of my card to compare signatures or ask for ID, even though I have written “CHECK ID” next to my signature on the back. I was wondering if I could hold the store liable for not using precautions to avoid this and allowing the person to use my credit card at 3 registers including the jewelry department.
The bill was about $300 and the person used the card at one store, 3 different registers, all within one hour.

How do I go about getting this guy arrested for credit card fraud?

natashaiera asked:

My sister’s x boyfriend has been harassing her for a couple of months now. He knew her social security number because my sister left it in her wallet and he ended up memorizing it. Anyways, he’s made thousands of dollars worth of charges on her credit card, and he’s even left her voicemails on her cell phone with an automated voice saying her social security number. He’s practically rubbing in her face that he’s making charges on her credit card and not giving a fuck who finds out because he knows she’s not going to do anything about it. She finally got a block on her credit card, so when someone makes a charge on it they’ll call her and ask her permission before it gets approved. Although what she did was smart, I want this guy put in jail. We have more than enough proof, and he ordered $1000 worth of video games and had them delivered to his house, so I don’t know how much more proof we would need. Anyways, I will do everything in my power to put this guy away. He has not only made outrageous charges on her credit card, but she has been leaving her voicemails threatening to kill her with once agian, an automated voice, and he has egged her car and left threatening letters on it. He has been listening to her conversations somehow, and has repeated them in the voicemails he has left, he also recorded her having sex with her boyfriend somehow, and then sent her the recording. Anyways, we’ve went to the police multiple times and they don’t take us seriously at all. I need help, and I would like to do this right, legally.

what is the Texas statue of limitations on credit card fraud?

pspoptart asked:

While we were together my fiancee (then live-in boyfriend) used my bank password to log on and do a cash advance from my credit card to the bank account after he went on a little spending spree while I was on a trip to my Dad’s. I don’t think his name was on the bank account either, he just used my debit card, which I could argue he had permission for….but definitely NOT to do a cash advance with my credit card!

It happened in 2006 or so and I was giving him time to pay up but he’s not doing so. How long do I have before it’s too late to prosecute him?

I have a couple of credit card fraud questions?

peacemakerslady asked:

My exhusband applied for and got a credit card about 10 years ago. I was a user on the account but I didn’t fill out the application, I only signed as a user. I did not know that he had used his sons social security number on the application at the time. Now his son is 21 and is threatening to charge me with identity theft because my name is the other name on the account and his dad didn’t pay the bill. How can I protect myself? His dad and I are no longer married. Also is it legal for the credit card company to give him my social security number when he didn’t have it already? Isn’t that illegal for them to do? I mean him and his wife could use it to steal my info for identity theft. Also it concerns me that they have this info because his mother is a drug addict. Can anyone please help me?
